1pm-2pm Path of Compassion for the Deceased with Avalokiteshvara Sadana
This powa is a powerful method for transferring the consciousness of the deceased to the Pure Land.
2pm-5pm Open house
Come by to give regards to Trisha without having to participate in the prayers and powas. Enjoy food and drink with friends, relatives and fellow practitioners.
"What is 'powa', or 'transference of consciousness'? Powa is a method by which accomplished meditators transfer their consciousness to a higher rebirth. At the time of death our mind naturally leaves the body but generally cannot choose its next rebirth. Experienced practitioners of powa, however, can choose their next rebirth and direct their consciousness to a higher state at the time of death."
- Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully
It is considered auspicious to bring offerings of food, flowers or money.
All money collected will go directly to Compassion Kadampa Buddhist Center in Healdsburg
